Clear screw holes

Sometimes a speaker surround overlaps the area where the screw that secures the speaker to the cabinet turns. When the screw is tightened, the force of the rotating screw may deform the surround.

Screw deforms the foam surround of a woofer.

In these cases we recommend cutting the speaker surround slightly so that the screw runs freely. This way the speaker surround remains in shape when the screw is tightened. The Surround can be cut before or during gluing. Semi-circular cuts give the best results.
